On the afternoon of 22 January 2026 at the meeting hall of the Quang Ninh Provincial Centre for Disease Control, a meeting took place with two main agenda items:
1. Summarizing the activities of the “Promoting the holistic development of children through training in positive parenting skills in five provinces and cities of Vietnam” (EM-THRIVE) programme;
2. Discussing the implementation plan for the programme for the 2026-2027 period.
Attendees at the meeting included:
Mr. Bui Kim Chung – Specialist of Quang Ninh Department of Health;
Mr. Vu Quyet Thang – Director of Quang Ninh Provincial Centre for Disease Control;
Mr. Doan Ngoc Thanh – Deputy Director of Quang Ninh Provincial Centre for Disease Control;
Along with officials from the Quang Ninh Provincial Centre for Disease Control, representatives from Maternity and Children’s Hospital, Bai Chay Hospital, Vinmec Hospital, Provincial General Hospital, and VNVC Vaccination Center.
At the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam – representative of the EM-THRIVE Programme Management Board – presented a comprehensive report on the results of implementing the planned activities. Through the implementation process, the programme achieved many positive outcomes. Notably, Quang Ninh Province has emerged as the leading unit among the five participating provinces and cities. The results included completion of 8 out of 8 training courses for Commune Health Workers, integration of the programme into routine activities at the commune level beginning in late December, and implementation of the programme in four hospitals: Maternity and Children’s Hospital, Bai Chay Hospital, Vinmec Hospital, and Provincial General Hospital. A total of 63 supervisory trips by provincial lecturers were conducted, and RTCCD provided 175 toolkits, which were distributed to Commune health stations.
In addition to reporting on the programme’s results, the representatives also openly discussed and evaluated difficulties and challenges encountered during the implementation process and proposed solutions to overcome these issues in the future.
In his concluding remarks, Mr. Doan Ngoc Thanh – Deputy Director of the Quang Ninh Provincial Centre for Disease Control – acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and sense of responsibility of the units participating in the programme; he also emphasized the need to continue to build on the results achieved, directed units to proactively overcome difficulties, and to report promptly when issues arise.
The project review meeting took place seriously and effectively, providing an important basis for comprehensively evaluating the results of implementation and guiding subsequent activities.
