Following the two previous training courses for health workers at Hai Ha Health Center and Quang Yen Health Center, from 8 to 10 October 2025, the Quang Ninh Provincial Centre for Disease Control (CDC), in collaboration with the Research and Training Centre for Community Development (RTCCD), organized the third training course for grassroots health workers at Dong Trieu District Health Center.
With experience from the first two courses, provincial trainers from Quang Ninh CDC became more confident and adjusted their teaching methods to better suit participants in later classes.
In addition to theory-based lessons, grassroots health workers were particularly enthusiastic during the practical teaching sessions, where they had the opportunity to rehearse and practice facilitating parent education classes.
These exercises not only strengthened their understanding but also helped them feel more confident when delivering sessions for parents during routine Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) days at their commune health stations.
By empowering local trainers and health workers through this series of trainings, the EM-THRIVE Project – Enabling Mountainous and Rural Children From Five Provinces in Vietnam to Grow and Thrive continues to build sustainable capacity at the grassroots level.
The program equips health workers not only with technical knowledge but also with facilitation skills, ensuring that parenting sessions are implemented effectively and bring long-term benefits to children, parents, and communities across Quang Ninh province.
