In November 2025, Binh Thuan Province officially began the large-scale rollout of Positive Parenting Skills Practice Sessions, integrated into routine Expanded Immunization Program (EIP) visits at commune and ward health stations under the EM-THRIVE project.
The activity is being implemented at multiple Commune Health Stations, with participation from health workers who were previously trained by the program. This marks an important step in translating training content into regular community-based practice, ensuring that families with children aged 0–5 years can access essential childcare knowledge and skills in a direct, simple, and practical way.
The sessions are conducted during immunization hours, when parents are already gathered—creating an ideal opportunity to deliver key messages and guide hands-on practice. Caregivers watch instructional videos, participate in Q&A discussions, practice on models, and receive feedback from trained health staff.
Supportive supervision visits in Hoa Thang and Song Luy communes showed that caregivers were highly engaged, actively asked questions, and expressed strong interest in topics related to child health and development. Commune health workers also demonstrated increased confidence in facilitating the sessions, interacting with parents, and handling common scenarios.
The widespread implementation of these community practice sessions in Binh Thuan reflects the province’s strong commitment to strengthening childcare capacity, delivering knowledge to the right people at the right time, and supporting the holistic development of young children in their earliest years.
