Training courses on “Health Care and Soft Skills for Students” in Ha Nam Province with Canadian trainers

On June 30 – July 6, 2015, a Doctor from Queen Elizabeth Hospital and students from University of Saskatchewan, Canada partnered with the Project on Learning Clubs for Women’s Health and Infant Development and Ha Nam Provincial Women’s Union organized training courses on health care and soft skills for 480 primary and secondary school students in Nhan Thinh, Liem Can and Doi Son Commune.

With professional working style and creativity, along with the love for children, the Canadian trainers imparted practical knowledge and soft skills to the students. Combining lectures with visual aids, practical activities and outdoor games, the courses took place very lively and effectively.
After the course, the students became more confident, firmly grasped the knowledge about health care and the soft skills to become good citizens. The students showed great love to the teachers and expected to participate in future courses. Ms.Phuong – Tran Hai Nam’s parent, student in grade 1, Doi Son primary school, said: “After learning hand-washing in class, he confidently instructed his sister how to wash hands properly and told her how bacteria spread … “(laughed).
