Training course “Mental disoder in Children” in Ben Tre Province

On the October 20^th 2014, the Social Work Professional Development Center has conducted for 50 child protection social workers and para-social workers, teachers. This training course was cooperated between RTCCD and Ben Tre DOLISA.

This course was the 11^th of series of training courses of SWPDC of the year 2014. This course provided for trainees the below contents:

• Understand the situation and policy on child protection with difficult situation in Vietnam.
• Understand the child mental disorders: screening, psychological treatment and social support for children mental disorders, special with autism spectrum disorder.
• Sharing experience on child mental disorder module at DOLISA level.

Trainers of this course were done by experienced professionals include: Dr Nguyen Trong An, child protection senior; Nguyen Thu Trang – mental health manager and Nguyen Thi Anh Nguyet – psychologist.

The content of the training was highly appreciated. More than 93% participants agreed that they can apply this knowledge on their work. The contents were appreciated as below: counseling skills; Identification, care and treatment for autism; Screening child mental disorders. Almost participants wished that the training would be longer so that they can learn more knowledge and practice skills.
