QUANG NINH – Review Meeting on EM-THRIVE Program Activities and Implementation Plan for 2026–2027

On the afternoon of January 22, 2026, a meeting was held at the conference hall of the Quang Ninh Provincial Center for Disease Control with two main agenda items:

1. Summarizing the activities of the EM-THRIVE program during the previous period
2. Discussing the implementation plan for the EM-THRIVE program for the 2026–2027 period

Attendees included:

1. Mr. Bui Kim Chung – Specialist, Quang Ninh Department of Health
2. Mr. Vu Quyet Thang – Director, Quang Ninh Provincial Center for Disease Control
3. Mr. Doan Ngoc Thanh – Deputy Director, Quang Ninh Provincial Center for Disease Control

Along with officials from the Quang Ninh Provincial Center for Disease Control, representatives from the Maternity and Children’s Hospital, Vinmec Hospital, Provincial General Hospital, VNVC Vaccination Center, Bai Chay Hospital.

At the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam, a representative of the EM-THRIVE Program Management Board, presented a comprehensive report on the implementation results of the planned activities. Throughout the implementation process, the program has achieved many positive outcomes. In particular, Quang Ninh province has emerged as the leading unit among the five participating provinces and cities. Implementing the program, achieving the following results: Completion of 8 out of 8 training courses for commune/ward healthcare workers; Simultaneous integration of the program into routine activities at the commune/ward level, commencing from late December; Program implementation in four Hospitals: Maternity and Children’s Hospital, Bai Chay Hospital, Vinmec Hospital, and Provincial General Hospital. Sixty-three provincial lecturer supervision trips were conducted; RTCCD provided 175 toolkits, which were distributed to the health stations.

In addition to reporting on the program’s achievements, representatives also openly discussed and evaluated the difficulties and obstacles encountered during the implementation process, and proposed solutions for future improvements.

In his concluding remarks at the meeting, Mr. Đoàn Ngọc Thanh, Deputy Director of the Quang Ninh Provincial Center for Disease Control, acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and sense of responsibility demonstrated by the units participating in the programme. At the same time, he emphasized the need to continue building on the results achieved, and requested that the units proactively address difficulties and promptly report whenever issues arise.

The project review meeting was conducted in a focused and effective manner, providing a crucial basis for a comprehensive evaluation of implementation outcomes and for guiding the direction of subsequent activities.
