RTCCD has been piloting a model of Community-based Social Protection and Rehabilitation Systems for People with Mental Disorders in Thanh Hoa and Ben Tre. The project has four main objectives: (1) Collect evidence on mental health care (MHC) needs and practical experiences to design a model of community based MHC; (2) A comprehensive community based, and Vietnam context tailored, MHC model piloted in Ben Tre and Thanh Hoa. (3) In the target province, service providers will be capable of sustaining the model after the period of 2013 – 2015, and a group of trainers will be trained to support the model replication nationwide; (4) Evidence based technical guidelines on the model establishment and implementation are developed, adjusted and replicated to other provinces.
