On the morning of October 18, 2022, at Inco 519.9 Hotel, the Ha Nam Provincial Labor Confederation in collaboration with the Research and Training Center for Community Development (RTCCD) held a seminar that introduced an online learning program on active parenting for children’s first 1000 days of life to industrial zone workers.
Attending the workshop, in addition to the leaders of the two aforementioned organizations, there were 25 workers representatives from 5 grassroots unions of 5 factories in the area.

Ms. Pham Thi Thu Giang, Vice President of the Labor Confederation of Ha Nam Province, shared her thoughts that the program was extremely helpful, providing various practical knowledge and skills to workers. Additionally, she would like to commend the enthusiasm and efforts of the program development team as well as all the doctors and nurses involved in the content creation process. Thanks to the program, workers in Ha Nam province will have access to accurate, scientific knowledge of child care. She also would like to facilitate the education program through 11 primary locations to promote the program, ultimately benefiting workers.

Throughout the seminar, Tran Thu Ha, MPH, Director of RTCCD, talked about the content of the course as well as the development team’s experiences during the creation process to help workers understand more about the importance of parenting, changing the parents’ behavior in various child developmental periods from fetal, neonatal, to reaching school age.
- What are the benefits of investing in your child before birth compared to after the baby is born?
- What is the importance of the husband and father in raising children together?
- How to always keep an intimate parent-child relationship?
In the education program, parents will learn the answers to these questions.
Participating in the course will enhance the knowledge and skills of workers to take care of their children for comprehensive development, and simultaneously help them better understand workers’ rights, children’s rights, and child safety in childcare services.
