Final evaluation of the project “Life is good: Hope villages”

The Project “Life is Good: Hope Villages”, funded by LG through Habitat for Humanity Vietnam (HFHV), was implemented since 2021 to reducing vulnerabilities to inadequate housing and exposure to health and environmental risks for Muong Ethnic Minority in Quyet Thang Commune, Lac Son District, Hoa Binh Province with objectives of improving housing and sanitation and hygiene facilities; improving community’s and school children’s’ WASH practice and studying facilities; raising awareness of the community on healthy homes and healthy communities by promoting asbestos-free, zero indoor cooking and open defecation-free communities.

There were 22 households benefited directly from the project. Five hundred and thirty-eight (538) students had access to leaflets to read and understand information and participated in 3 contests. The number of parents participating in the competition is quite large, up to about 30% of all parents.

The final project evaluation was conducted by 3 members: 2 senior researchers and 1 research assistant: Dr. Hoang Thi Bang, MD. MSc – Maternal and Child Health Expert, Tran Thi Thu Ha, MPH. – Early Childhood Development Expert and Dr. Truong Viet Dung, MD. The evaluation team worked with a serious, urgent and honest spirit to complete the most accurate project evaluation report, despite the obstacle of the storm No. 2 causing flooding in the locality.
