On January 11, 2026, the Research and Training Centre for Community Development (RTCCD), in coordination with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labour, organized the “Parent–Child Bonding Day” at May Man Seon Global Co., Ltd. in Thanh Hoa Province.
The event brought together nearly 100 parents and children aged 10–18. Beyond an activity to support the mental and emotional well-being of workers, the program created a safe and supportive space where families could listen, understand one another, and express love in the most natural and meaningful ways.
In the fast-paced environment of industrial work, many parents shared that they identifying a lack of time and appropriate knowledge to truly understand their children—especially as they enter adolescence, a stage marked by significant emotional and psychological changes.
At the same time, many children find it difficult to express their feelings or share the pressures they face with their parents.
Responding to these realities, the Parent–Child Bonding Day at May Man Seon Global was designed as an experiential journey—one in which both parents and children first learn to understand themselves, before learning to understand each other.
Through warm-up activities, group games, and experiential exercises using emotion cards and the emotion wheel, children gradually explored the connection between emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.

By engaging in familiar, real-life scenarios, children came to understand that all emotions are valid, but unmanaged emotions can lead to unintended consequences. More importantly, they were encouraged to express their thoughts and feelings in a way that is safe, respectful, and confident.
Running in parallel with the children’s activities, parents participated in interactive games and a thematic session on “Communicating with Teenagers.”
Through the “5 Do’s and 4 Don’ts” communication framework, parents had the opportunity to reflect on how they respond to their children’s challenging behaviors, identify common misunderstandings, and practice listening with empathy rather than judgment.

Many parents shared that they realized their children are not “difficult” as they once thought—rather, they are simply seeking to be understood.
The joint parent–child session served as the highlight of the program. Families were grouped together to participate in physical games, review key lessons, and join a mini-workshop on the “Five Love Languages.”
Through each challenge, families discovered that everyone expresses love differently—some through words, others through actions, and some through attentive listening. Once these differences are recognized, caring for one another becomes easier, more intentional, and more effective.

The program concluded with deeply emotional moments as parents and children wrote messages to one another, watched a recap video, and took commemorative photos together—simple yet powerful memories that will stay with them long after the event.
The program left a lasting impression on many participants.
A parent shared:
“After today, when I go home, I will hug my child more and express my love more openly.”
A student expressed:
“When I get home, I will help my parents with household chores and talk to them more.”
These sincere words are the clearest reflection of the meaningful impact the program has created.
The Parent–Child Bonding Day at May Man Seon Global Co., Ltd. not only contributed to strengthening parenting skills, but also demonstrated the company’s strong commitment to the mental well-being and family happiness of its employees.
The program represents a meaningful step toward building a humane and supportive working environment, where workers are empowered by the understanding, connection, and love nurtured within their families.
