Building on the success of the first two cohorts, the Can Tho City Centre for Disease Control (CDC) continued its capacity-building efforts by organizing the third training course from 25–27 November 2025 at the Can Tho CDC Hall.

The course brought together 34 participants, including doctors, master’s degree holders, public health graduates, and nurses from 17 Commune Health Stations. All participants are core frontline staff directly involved in reproductive health care and health education and communication at the community level.

Prior to the in-person course, all trainees had completed the online module on the Early Journey of Life website. This ensured that participants were already equipped with foundational knowledge before entering the three-day training.

Throughout the course, trainees received instruction and hands-on practice in key daily professional topics such as prenatal education, first aid, caring for sick children, nutrition, and child safety. In addition, participants were introduced to new concepts including early childhood education for the first years of life and strengthening the role of fathers in maternal and child care.

All participants were enthusiastic and highly engaged in class activities. The practice sessions on how to conduct parenting guidance at the commune level were particularly lively, helping trainees gain greater confidence for implementation at their own health stations.
